So, i had kept the weight off and then decided at a moment of upset (not weakness) that i would let my hair down a bit and slightly indulge.

I didn’t go crazy, i simply had a few days of a bit of a breather for a while.

I have said all along that this kind regime isn’t about disliking any type of food, but as a particular cliche comes to mind ‘all in moderation’.

I put on 1.5 lbs which is not a lot i know, but any of you monitoring you weight very carefully would know that it seeems a lot when trying to keep weight off.

Limp Surprise Tasty?

You would have read about celery in earlier recipes on this site. It’s known to break down sugar strands.

This is a great and simple recipe and an excellent way to give some celery which may have gone a bit limp a new start and create an excellent meal in the process. I lost 2.5lbs after eating this meal within 36 hours.


5 good sized carrots (trimmed)
5 sticks of celery (if a bit limp it doesn’t matter)

Two tblsp of lemon juice (bottled is fine)
One vegetable stock cube
1 level tsp mustard powder
2 bay leaves
Ground black pepper
A tiny amount of salt

Always attempt to consume food at its best if you can.

Trim and wash and roughly chop the carrots, place them into 2 litres of cold water in a saucepan.

Trim and wash the celery and roughly chop it into quite small pieces. Blend with a few tablespoons of the water from the saucepan the stock cube in a small cup and add to the saucepan. Then turn up the heat. Bring to the boil and simmer on high heat for 10-15 minutes.

Add the celery carefully and the mustard powder and the pepper and salt and the bayleaves.

Then add the lemon juice and simmer on a medium-high heat for a further ten minutes.

Test with a ladle to see if you like the taste and to see if it tastes quite lemony enough or has the exact right taste for you, but remember to let it cool down in the ladle first.

Switch off heat and serve (do not remove the bayleaves from the saucepan).

Try leaving some in a covered pot and trying just the soup part without the vegetables the next day without heating it up. It is quite delicious!

You could also try adding two cooking apples with skins removed and a few cloves of garlic and a couple of onions and some hot curry powder to make that exquisite curry sauce. And no oil. Oil does help release some flavours but keep that on ice if using Tier 1 recipes on this site. That is actually possible potential for another day.
